Below are some tools to help you resize quilt blocks to the size you need, both in
the Imperial (inches) and Metric (centimeters) systems.
Many of Piece By Number’s patterns are provided as 6 inch (15.2 cm) blocks, so as
to fit easily on standard computer printer paper. However, your local copy shop
can easily enlarge or reduce patterns to the perfect size for your project.
Below left are two simple tables to help you convert 6 inch square blocks to other
block sizes, either in inches (lavender) or centimeters (aqua).
Below right are two Microsoft Excel files which will calculate the conversion of
both square and rectangular blocks to whatever size you need. The INCHES version
(lavender) simply converts original block sizes in inches to other block sizes in
inches. The METRIC version (aqua) converts original block sizes in inches to other
block sizes in centimeters.
