"Spring" Quilt by Mrs. Kim's Reception 4 Class | |||||||||

This quilt was a class project for Mrs. Kim's Reception 4 class (4 and 5 year olds) at the International School of Lausanne, Switzerland. The children handpainted squares using fabric paints on muslin. Bright fabric strips frame each child's artwork individually, and bring the blocks to a uniform size/shape. Three foundation pieced "filler squares" round out the number of blocks to 20 for the quilt.
The children were thrilled to see their handiwork incorporated like this into a "real" quilt, which now hangs in their classroom. Note that the sunshine is really my sunflower block done in bright yellows and golds! (Patterns not currently available for the other FP blocks.) |
